Our murder mystery night had many props which were used throughout the night. Each party guest received 12 coins which were used to bribe and blackmail for additional information to help players identify the murderer. We were concerned that players may end up losing their coins, putting them at a disadvantage, so we decided to make small money pouches that each player would get upon arrival that would help them throughout the night.
To make the pouches, I bought many packets of craft felt from Spotlight. The felt came in a three pack which came in several colour combinations. I put a crease into the middle of each piece of felt by folding it over, and pressing down hard to mark half way. Using a hot glue gun, I glued up the sides to form a pouch. Sharp scissors were used to put tiny slits into the felt on both sides of the pouch about 1/3 of the way down from the top. I used various coloured pieces of ribbon and wool to thread through the slits to form the draw string, finishing it by tying it in a bow at the front.
